Today I would like to share to you some advices about what to wear when you are invited to late afternoon events, better known as cocktail events.
We are in that piece of the day where a casual day look is not appropriate as it isn’t neither a night-elegant one.
The problem gets even bigger when you don’t have a dresscode required on your invitation.
Let’s begin by saying that even when you don’t have a dresscode specified, you still have some very important elements to take under consideration and that can be very useful and helpful.
1. The time. Usually these events begin around 7.00 pm and don’t last longer than 9.30 pm.
So, even when we don’t have any clue about what to wear, we will never think about putting on a night gown. Right?! 😉
2. The type of the event. I would like to acccentuate the fact that the type of the event should not influence you very much. That is because if you have a clear idea about the event hour and the season in which you find yourself ;), you shouldn’t mess it up.
It can be a fashion event, a book presentation, a store opening, a vernisage, and so on. The important thing is to be self conscious and feel good about what you are wearing.
3. Not too much, but not in the shadow!
As we are talking, you must keep in mind the fact that not only when you have to go to special events you MUST be elegant and special. You ALWAYS have to be splendide! 🙂 Be like nobody else! Always. Even if you choose a simple black dress, be sure that you accessorize it with your personal touch and make it unique and unforgettable.
I will share with you some catwalk outfits from the autumn winter 2015/2016 fashion shows that in my opinion are just perfect for a cocktail event.
